Teen charged with attempted homicide in Allen shooting

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Allentown Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a shooting near William Allen High School last week.

Police said they arrested 16-year-old Shatiek Ransome Monday in connection with the shooting of a female Allen student.

Ransome, a Dieruff High School student, has been charged with attempted homicide, criminal conspiracy to commit homicide, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault and firearm possession by a minor.

The shooting happened Dec. 12 near West Park on Turner Street, about a block from Allen HS.

Ransome has been charged as an adult in the case and is currently being held at Lehigh County Prison under $1 million bail.
