Police: Burglar attacks man with wrench

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Police in Allentown are investigating a home invasion in which a man was beaten with a wrench.

The drama unfolded at around 12:20 p.m. Wednesday afternoon in the 1200 block of Gordon Street.

Police say a man busted the window to the front door and unlocked it.

The victim told officers that he was sleeping in his bedroom when the burglar attacked, hitting him several times with the wrench.

The crook got away with 80 dollars and other personal items.

The victim was taken to the hospital and was released.

Police tell 69 News that they believe the victim was targeted.

Anybody with information is asked to call police.
