Police chase ends with shots fired, crash with police car in Allentown

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Police are on the scene of a shooting and crash involving an Allentown police car Sunday morning.

It happened near 19th and Green streets in Allentown around 8:30 a.m.

A 69 News crew on the scene said a white Ford pick-up truck and Allentown police car appear to have crashed after a brief police chase.

The truck involved has dozens of bullet holes in it and at least one person was taken away in an ambulance.

Witnesses on the scene tell 69 News the driver of the truck was taken to the hospital. The condition of the person is unknown.

One witness said he heard sirens and rapid gunfire.

Nineteenth street is closed between Tilghman and Pennsylvania streets. Numerous police cars are on scene.
