Police, DA renew plea for information about deadly shooting

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Authorities on Tuesday renewed their plea for help in their investigation of a deadly shooting inside a club in Allentown last month.

Michael Randolph was shot and killed by an armed security guard inside the North End Republican Club, 643 N. 8th St., on Apr. 29, said Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin.

Randolph, 23, of Allentown, was found lying outside the rear door of the club, said Martin, who added that he died of multiple gunshot wounds.

The guard who admitted shooting Randolph worked for a company that was hired to provide security at the club, Martin said. Authorities have not released the guard's identity, and no charges have been filed.

As many as 80 people were inside the club when the shooting occurred, said Martin, who asked Tuesday that anyone who has information about the case to come forward and contact detectives, including the three unidentified men who he said were seen on surveillance video entering the club with Randolph.

"We are asking them to come forward and are seeking information from anyone who might know who the men are," Martin said.

Anyone with information should call Allentown detectives at 610-437-7721.
