Police: Dominguez German stole from roommate, staged burglary

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - An Allentown man is facing charges after police say he admitted to stealing thousands of dollars from his roommate and staging it to look like their home had been burglarized.

Dominguez German, 55, has been charged with theft and receiving stolen property.

Police say they were called to 928 W. Allen Street on Thursday for a report of a burglary.

A woman living in the home reported that $5,000 had been stolen from a jewelry box in her bedroom. The woman claimed that German, her roommate, admitted to taking the money, and staging it to look like a burglary.

German was later questioned by police, and officials say he admitted to stealing $4,000 from his roommate. Police say German used the money to pay back people he owed and to get a construction tool out of pawn.
