Police: Fireworks caused dumpster fire

HELLERTOWN, Pa. - Two young men are facing charges after police in Northampton County say their fireworks caused a dumpster fire.

Hellertown Police said 21-year-old Jake McGeehan and 20-year-old Austin Frank were setting off fireworks around 6 p.m. on July 4 and that set off a fire in a dumpster located behind 631 Main Street in Hellertown.

No injuries were reported due to the fire.

McGeehan, of 631 Main Street, and Frank of the 4600 block of Nicholas Street in Easton, were charged with criminal mischief and dangerous burning.

The fire caused damage in excess of $2000 to the 25-foot dumpster and a vehicle parked nearby.
