Police identify motorcyclist killed in Northampton County crash

LOWER MT. BETHEL TWP., Pa. - A motorcyclist was killed after colliding with a car in Lower Mt. Bethel Township, Northampton County.

The crash happened around 5:15 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Route 611 and Upper Little Creek Road.

State police said a car traveling north on Route 611 was attempting to make a left turn onto Upper Little Creek Road when it struck a motorcycle traveling south on Route 611.

The motorcyclist, 59-year-old Donald Winelander Jr. of East Bangor, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said he was wearing a helmet.

The driver of the car was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation. Police have not indicated if there is a possibility of charges being filed in connection with the crash.
