Police raid 2 Easton apartments, seize $4,000 in heroin

EASTON, Pa. - Greg Mucklin says he was just getting home from work when police raided an apartment across the street from his 11th street home in Easton.

"I knew what was going on. I have lived here all my life," he said.

Police say three people were arrested in connection with drug activity: Devon Fields, Antwon Gray and a 17-year-old female.

$4,000 in heroin, marijuana and cash were seized.

Police say ballistic evidence was also found in the home that is believed to be related to a recent violent crime in the area, however, they haven't said what that crime is.

A second, simultaneous raid was conducted at a Wilson Borough apartment building where police arrested Genneth Gayle who was wanted on drug charges.

The family who owns the apartment building where Fields was arrested is fixing damage they say was left behind from the raid.

This man didn't want to go on camera, but says officers put holes in the walls and busted down several doors.

He says code enforcement showed up after officers cleared out and told him he had to fix the damage as soon as possible.

Mucklin says it was a surprising way to start the day but says drugs and shootings have become too frequent around here lately.

"Yeah, I am glad to see that, you know, the city is doing something about it," he said.
