Police responding to trespassing call find man on the roof

Blood test allegedly reveals drugs in his system

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - When Allentown police were dispatched for a trespassing report Saturday afternoon, officers arrived to find a man allegedly jumping off the front porch of a house and screaming that someone was trying to kill him.

Authorities charged Jesus M. Luciano, no confirmable address, with three felony counts of criminal trespass and a single misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct, following his arrest Saturday in the 600 block of Whitehall Street. District Judge Michael D’Amore arraigned the 30-year-old Saturday night, setting bail at $100,000.

Police allege Luciano broke into three houses in the 600 block of Whitehall Street.

Luciano reportedly kicked in the front door of one house, ran to the back of the home, pulled out a window and jumped through, according to court records. He proceeded to break through the back door of a nearby home, went upstairs and climbed through a window onto the front porch roof.

Luciano was on the roof when officers arrived. He jumped down and tried to run away, but police managed to detain him. While being held down, Luciano repeatedly screamed, “They are trying to kill me,” according to records.

Luciano was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital, where blood tests allegedly showed cocaine and Percocet in his system, police said.

Luciano failed to post bail and was sent to Lehigh County Prison to await a preliminary hearing scheduled for March 19.
