Police: Shooting in Allentown leaves man with life-threatening injuries

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Police say a man was shot in Allentown Tuesday night.

According to the Allentown Police Department, around 10 p.m. police responded to a shooting at 10th and Chestnut streets.

Officers say when they arrived on scene and they found a male victim with life-threatening wounds.

The man was transported to an area hospital.

A neighbor told 69 News she heard the gunshots from her apartment nearby and ran out to see what happened.

"I went downstairs and ran down the street and the victim was laying on the corner. There was a lot of blood around I was standing almost next to him and there were officers all around, there was a car accident right there in that alley," said neighbor Kita O'Neal.

Police closed several roads in the area as they conducted their investigation.
