Police: Upper Saucon man shoots...

UPPER SAUCON TWP., Pa. - A Lehigh County man is charged with attempted homicide after a shooting Saturday.

Officials say William Roberts, 69, shot his nephew at their home in Upper Saucon Township, then chased him around with a shotgun on a golf cart.

According to court paper work, here's what happened:

Police responded to a home in the 7700 block of Tumblebrook Road just before 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

There they found Andrew Williams lying in front of the house with three gunshot wounds. He pointed to his uncle, William Roberts, who was driving around on a golf cart, and said William was the one who shot him.

Police took William Roberts into custody and found he had a revolver and shotgun with him.

Roberts then told police, before they even questioned him, "I want it documented that I wanted to kill him."

A woman who cleans the house said Andrew was typing on the computer when William stomped upstairs, opened a dresser drawer and came back downstairs and went into the room with Andrew. She said she then heard two gunshots.

Police also said William Roberts told them in an interview that he shot Andrew by expending all five rounds from his revolver, reloaded and fired two more shots.

He told police he then got a shotgun and drove around on a golf cart looking for Andrew to shoot him again.

William Roberts was arraigned Saturday night and is being held in Lehigh County Jail. The judge denied him bail because he is "a grave danger to the victim and community."

Police are still investigating what led to the attack.
