PPL Center to host 106th meeting between Lehigh, PSU

Lehigh to host 2-time defending champ Dec. 3

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - It's hosted ice hockey, college basketball, monster trucks and professional bull riders. Now the PPL Center is set to host to storied college wrestling programs.

Lehigh University will host two-time defending national champion Penn State University 2 p.m. Dec. 3 at the PPL Center. The match marks the first collegiate wrestling match at the Allentown arena and the 106th between the two schools.

"It's an idea we've been playing with for a few years an fortunately it all came together," Lehigh coach Pat Santoro said in a prepared statement. "There's not a better team to host for this event than Penn State."

Lehigh said the match will be part of season ticket and mini-plan packages. Season ticket holder can begin renewing tickets on Thursday, and wrestling tickets will go on sale to the general public at noon on Sept. 20.

Tickets for the Lehigh, Penn State match will be available at the PPL Center box office, the PPL Center website or by calling 610-347-8499.

Lehigh set an all-time dual attendance record with its Feb. 12, 2016, match against Penn State at Stabler Arena.

The Mountain Hawks will also release the full 2017-18 wrestling schedule Thursday.
