PPL Electric Utilities lowers price for non-energy shoppers

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - PPL Electric Utilities recently posted a new energy price for customers who choose not to shop for electricity supply.

The new price only affects the energy portion of electric bills, not the delivery portion, according to the company.

Effective June 1, the new price to compare for residential customers will be about 7.449 cents per kilowatt-hour (down from the current 7.463 cents per kilowatt-hour) and the new price for small business customers is 6.776 cents per kilowatt-hour (down from the current 7.701 cents per kilowatt-hour).

Customers who do shop for their energy supply are not affected by this change.

PPL Electric Utilities encourages customers to save money by shopping for deals with competitive electric suppliers. For those who choose not to shop, the company holds energy auctions to purchase power at the lowest possible price.
