PPL to make 'substantial progress' Tuesday in restoring power

PPL Electric Utilities says it expects to make a great deal of progress Tuesday in restoring power to those who are still in the dark due to last week's storm.

Its staff of 1,800 linemen, damage assessors and tree crews continues to expand as new crews arrive from other utilities.

PPL says it's tracking Wednesday's storm and will be ready to respond to any outages caused, as it's keeping the expanded staff in the area.

“We’re working around the clock, as quickly and safely as possible, to bring all customers back into service," said Vice President of Distribution Operations Stephanie Raymond.
