Prayer vigil held for millions affected by Typhoon Haiyan

BETHLEHEM TWP., Pa. - As more news of the devastation following Typhoon Haiyan comes to light, many in our area are struggling with what they can do to help people in the Philippines.

One local monastery in Northampton County is now filling the gap.

The priests at Barnabite Spiritual Center in Bethlehem Township have decided to begin a 24 hour prayer vigil for the victims not only of the typhoon but the earthquake that hit the same area just a few weeks ago and the resulting aftershock that hit Tuesday.
