Quiz Bowl champs qualify for national championship

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Quiz Bowl team Lehigh Valley Academy Regional Charter is currently undefeated and ranked number one in the state of Pennsylvania.

The team qualified for the National Championship Tournament that will be held in Atlanta in May.

"Our rankings say we're the best in Pennsylvania, we worked hard to get that title," said Lucas Larkin.

Larkin and fellow teammate Alex Schmidt recently finished first place at the Manheim Township Academic Challenge Tournament in Lancaster.

Schmidt, 15, is a junior at Lehigh Valley Academy, and holds the record for the most points scored in a single game.

"Some of the kids are really, really good but he's like…a computer almost," said Larkin about Schmidt.

The team's current record is 9-0.
