Repairs on I-78 Bridge over Old Route 22 end, all lanes open for traffic

WEISENBERG TWP., Pa. - All lanes are now open on the I-78 Bridge over Old Route 22 after repair work was completed Wednesday night.

The Weisenberg Township bridge, constructed in 1958, needed new expansion joints, structural steel repairs, concrete bridge deck and bearing repairs and line painting.

The repairs began April 22 and caused several road closures throughout the end of April and the beginning of May.

This section of I-78 has an average daily traffic volume of 38,500 vehicles.

The bridge's expansion joints will be sealed for four days starting May 4.
