Report says PPL, Air Products paid zero federal income tax

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - A new study says over a hundred top-ranking corporations paid little to no U.S. income tax over the past five years, and the list includes some familiar names.

The study was done by two think tanks and released by the nonpartisan Pennsylvania Budget Policy Center.

Surveyors say they looked at five year's worth of tax records and found Lehigh Valley-based companies PPL and Air Products filed no federal income tax for at least one of the past five years.

69 News reached out to both companies.

PPL says it is an "ethical" company that pays a range of taxes and an Air Products official says the company meets all of its financial obligations.
