Republican Brad Osborne wins nomination for Lehigh County Executive

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Republican Brad Osborne won the nomination for Lehigh County Executive Tuesday night.

The race, while close, swung his way early in the night.

Osborne is a businessman who has also sat on multiple boards in his community.

His opponent was Lehigh County Controller Glenn Eckhart. In the end, the polls ended up favoring Osborne, 57 percent to 43 percent.

In his victory speech, Osborne said Eckhart had called him to concede, and the two vowed to work together, to "end a 12-year-reign of Democratic control" of the Lehigh County Executive seat.
