Restaurateur Donny Petridis co-founded, co-owned Melt and Blue

Restaurateur to offer 'classy' dining across from arena

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Plans are in the works to bring a classy restaurant to downtown Allentown.

City Center Lehigh Valley announced Tuesday that local restaurateur Donny Petridis has plans to open an 8,000 square-foot restaurant at Two City Center at 7th and Hamilton streets in the city's Neighborhood Improvement Zone, or the NIZ.

The restaurant, Petridis said, will be refined yet relaxed and serve lunch, dinner and cocktails in a classy, comfortable setting.

"The [Lehigh] Valley's enthusiasm over Donny's previous creations, Melt and Blue, are an indication that downtown Allentown is in for a real treat," said Jim Harbaugh, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Center City Lehigh Valley. "Donny's commitment to opening such an energizing, high-caliber establishment at City Center brings us one step closer to helping transform downtown Allentown into a dynamic community for business, culture and urban living."

Groundbreaking for the construction of Two City Center, a six-story office building at 645 Hamilton St., is scheduled for this fall. Petridis' new restaurant, the building's first occupant, is projected to open in the second quarter of 2014, officials said.
