Route 222 reopens near the Berks/Lehigh County line

Accident on Berks/Lehigh line

MAXATAWNY TWP., Pa. - Route 222 has reopened following a crash near Premise Maid in western Lehigh County.

The road re-opened around 9 p.m. Wednesday.  Lehigh County Communications officials say an accident had forced the road to be closed around 7:20 p.m.

The crash happened right near the Premise Maid candy company on Hamilton Blvd. in Maxatawny Twp., Berks County.

That's right near the Lehigh County line and is just past where Schantz Road merges with Route 222.

There's no word on how many people were involved or how badly they were hurt.
