Ruckus Brewery signs agreement to buy Neuweiler building

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - A New York-based company that brews the famed Reading Premium Beer is one step closer to setting up shop in Allentown.

Ruckus Brewery has signed an agreement of sale to purchase the old Neuweiler building on North Front Street, city officials said.

The property has been vacant since the 1960s.

The finished building will include a microbrewery and brew pub, along with business space, said Ruckus officials.

The building is located in Allentown's Neighborhood Improvement Zone, which is the special tax zone that's helping to fund the city's arena project.
