Rupp joins Phillies, Altherr returns to Reading, Valle promoted to 'Pigs

Rupp to Phillies, Altherr to Reading, Valle to 'Pigs

In Wednesday's 10-5 victory over the Braves, Phillies backup catcher Will Nieves felt a pop in his right quadriceps running to second base on a double.  He claims to be a quick healer and hopes to avoid going on the 15 day disabled list. The Phils have recalled Cameron Rupp from the IronPigs and optioned outfielder Aaron Altherr back to Reading.  Sebastien Valle has been promoted to the IronPigs from Reading. Earlier this season Rupp spent about a month on the disabled list with a strained oblique. In just 108 at-bats with Lehigh Valley, he was hitting just one sixty-seven with 6 homeruns and 18 rbi. The Phillies begin a four game series in St. Louis tonight.
