Sands fined for underage gambling

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Sands Casino in Bethlehem is facing a hefty fine due to several reports of underage gambling.

State officials say people under the age of 21 gained access to the Sands gaming floor six times this year.

They say in some of the instances the minors also consumed alcohol.

The Sands reported the incidents to the State Gaming Control Board.

That board is now levying a fine against the operator of the Sands for a total of $85,000.
