'Say goodbye to the bowtie' Moravian President leaves

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Faculty and students alike took time out of their day to say "Goodbye...to the Bowtie".

The institution's president, Chris Thomforde, is retiring after leading the school for the past seven years.

Thomforde is well known in the area for showing up to work everyday with a smile and a bowtie on.

"Its very very gratifying. The years are certainly challenging in higher education these days, but we have terrific students and a great faculty and a terrific staff so there is a lot to be proud of," said Thomforde.

Thomforde won't be leaving office until July but he did leave a tall gift for the campus -- an oversized white Adirondack chair.

Thomforde's height always left him looking for a bigger chair.
