Search continues for Audrey Penn

VIDEO: Search for Audrey Penn continues

SALISBURY TWP., Pa. - The search continues for a woman who disappeared from a Lehigh County nursing home.

Family and friends have been worried about 77-year-old Audrey Penn for two weeks.

On Wednesday, police searched the area near Fish Hatchery Road which is close to Woodland Terrace at the Oaks, the nursing home where she was last seen.

Penn suffers from Alzheimer's disease and, according to police, she had good days and bad days.

What they are not sure of is if, on the day she disappeared, she walked away or she convinced someone to give her a ride.

"At times she was very coherent and still believed she was a nurse working at a facility in Allentown. She could easily convince someone to get a ride and go somewhere else," said Salisbury Township Police Department Sgt. Donald Sabo.

So far, police have searched on foot, with tracking dogs, and with a drone with thermal imaging and regular camera systems on it.

They've also checked if Penn may have gotten on a bus.

"We did check bus video from LANTA and the first eight bus routes of the morning she was not on and we have flyers that we distributed to the bus staffs," said Sgt. Sabo.

Family and friends have also passed out flyers.

Penn is 5’4”, 190 pounds, and was wearing green pants and a green and purple flowered shirt.

Woodland Terrace is offering a $10,000 reward for any information leading to her location.
