Several Lehigh Valley hospitals earn top safety grade

Several Lehigh Valley hospitals received an "A" grade for their dedication to safe care from the Leapfrog Group, an organization aiming to improve health care quality for consumers, employers and purchasers.

The group assigns A, B, C, D, and F letter grades to general acute-care hospitals in the U.S. These grades are based on errors, accidents and infections.

Over 120 hospitals were graded in Pennsylvania and 38 were awarded an "A". Four local Lehigh Valley hospitals made the list.

  • Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg
  • Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono
  • St. Luke's Hospital - Allentown Campus
  • St. Luke's University Hospital - Bethlehem Campus
