Shelter in place lifted in Hanover Township

Police activity at 1170 Bridle Path Road

HANOVER TWP., Pa. - Police activity at a home in Northampton County prompted a shelter-in-place warning Thursday morning.

Police and County Emergency Response Team members were outside of a home in the 1100 block of Bridle Path Road in Hanover Township.

It is not yet clear what happened, but authorities said the situation started around 9:15 a.m.

A 69 News crew at the scene said officials were talking through a bullhorn to someone inside the house.

Police were asking residents to shelter in place and stay away from windows and doors. The warning was lifted around 1 p.m.
