Sixth Street building being demolished to expand shelter

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - An Allentown homeless shelter is also building but before that can happen a tear-down must take place.

Crews have started razing a blighted building at 221-223 North Sixth Street.

The Sixth Street shelter is expected to expand on that site.

The Community Action Committee of the Lehigh Valley runs the shelter.

The organization says it'll release details on the project in the next two weeks.
