Softball tournament gives back to community

Softball tournament benefits charity

WHITEHALL, Pa. - The second annual Give-Back Softball Tournament was held this weekend in Whitehall.

About 150 people came out to support the cause Saturday afternoon.

Each of the seven teams was playing for a different cancer organization. The winning team got to send the money to the organization of their choice.

Those who put on the event say they hope to continue the tradition every year.

"We really wanted to create a venue where people our age and our friends and family can have an event once a year to give back to the local community. every year we want to change the charity," Joe Brunovsky said.

Last year, the event raised more than $2,500 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
