Police activity forces some Whitehall residents inside their homes

Police have yet to release any information

WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. - Some residents in a Lehigh County community woke up to a heavy police presence.

Whitehall Township police officers could be seen going in and out of a home Thursday. Some township residents received automated phone calls Thursday morning telling residents to shelter in place due to police activity along South Fourth Street between Coplay and School streets.

The Lehigh County communications center said only that authorities were dispatched about 12:30 a.m. Thursday for a "police incident." The township police department has yet to release information about the incident.
