SPCA removes 118 animals from shed; charges pending

UPPER NAZARETH TWP., Pa. - Dozens of animals are now being cared for by the SPCA after being removed from a shed in Northampton County.

The Pennsylvania SPCA said 118 animals were removed from a shed on Daniels Road in Upper Nazareth Township.

The organization said its officers removed pigeons, cats, dogs and chickens from the shed and transported them to its headquarters in Philadelphia.

"We appreciate the PSPCA's prompt response to our request," said Upper Nazareth Township Supervisor Mike Rinker. "They performed a smooth operation and we are glad the animals are safe."

Officials are investigating why the animals were in the shed, and charges are pending against the owner.
