State: Unemployment rate drops for 17th consecutive month

The latest unemployment figures show a nearly six-year low for the Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton area.

State officials say the jobless rate fell to 6.2 percent in April.

That's the lowest it's been. these officials say, since October 2008.

Statewide, the rate dropped three tenths from six percent to 5.7 percent.
