Suspicious object at Lehigh Valley Hospital posed no danger, officials say

SALISBURY TWP., Pa. - A small area of the Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest campus was temporarily cordoned off Sunday while police and fire personnel responded to a report of a suspicious object, officials said.

Police and fire crews responded around 10:45 a..m. Hospital officials said an object that appeared suspicious was seen in the staff lot behind the emergency department.

A small area was cordoned off while the package was investigated.

Hospital officials said the emergency department remained in full use and the public was not affected.

The scene was cleared around 1 p.m. after crews determined the object was not explosive in nature and posed no danger, hospital officials said.
