Thousands of dollars raised for fire department

PC Beverage in Bath, PA has raised over $10,000 for the East Allen Township Volunteer Fire Department by collecting spare change.

The store's owner, Charles 'Chick' Leibig, said he put a fireman's boot on the counter eight years ago and donations have been steady.

In May of 2014, the boot collected $5,000 and the $10,000 mark was passed a few weeks ago.

"Just unbelievable…the outpouring of his customers as well as him volunteering to do that for us," said Chief Barry Frantz.

Frantz said a lot of the money raised has gone to buy new equipment for the department's fire trucks.
