Thousands still without power across the region

Widespread power outages are still a major problem across the region Monday.

As of noon, more than 32,000 customers were without power across the PPL coverage area, according to their outage map.

That includes more than 2,000 customers in Lehigh County, 1,400 in Northampton County and more than 12,000 in Monroe County.

Met-Ed had about 36,000 without power, including more than 4,000 in Northampton County and 13,500 in Monroe County, according to their outage map.

Crews have been working around the clock to fix the issue since Friday's storm.

PPL's latest estimate for complete restoration to all of its customers is Wednesday night.
