ALLENTOWN, Pa. - It was a mess outside an Allentown nightclub Sunday morning after a fight broke out. One man was shot several times, and two others were hurt in the confusion.
Neighbors and business owners near American Plaza in Allentown said something needs to change. This latest shooting at Tu Casa Nightclub & Restaurant has them calling for the establishment to be shut down.
Around 2 a.m. Sunday, Allentown Police said a disturbance inside Tu Casa Nightclub spilled into the parking lot. That's when someone started shooting.
Investigators said a 27-year-old man was hit multiple times. When the suspects tried to leave, they clipped a club security guard with the car, and another person needed stitches for a head wound.
Sunday night the shooting victim was listed in critical but stable condition, and authorities are on the hunt for the trigger man.
Folks living nearby are fed up with the unruliness caused by the club.
"I'm actually thinking about moving after I graduate college," explained Natalie Rodriguez. "Because Allentown is just getting very crazy. It's just unsafe."
Rodriguez lives just around the corner from the plaza. Neighbors said a lot of kids live on the block and the violence is getting too close.
"I was asleep and I just heard like a boom," described Cydnee Smith.
Parents say children are witnessing unnecessary fights and incidents with police, including this mother who didn't want to be identified.
"If they don't have things under control, I think that they shouldn't even be there."
Others suggest a larger police presence at Tu Casa would help calm things down.
"I would like to see more cops there at the club," said Smith. "So none of this would be happening."
"I think it would control everything and people would feel more safer here," shared Rodriguez.
Business owners in the plaza also say they're thinking about leaving.
