Two injured on Dorney Park's Stinger coaster

Coaster started up the hill, then rolled back into station

SOUTH WHITEHALL TWP., Pa - Two passengers were injured on the Stinger roller coaster at Doney Park early Friday evening.

The coaster's train started up the initial lift hill from the station, but then partially rolled back down, according to park officials.

Two of the riders requested to be transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital in Salisbury Township as a precaution.

"Safety is always our number one priority," said Dorney spokeswoman Carrie Basta, "thus the ride was closed for the remainder of the evening and will remain closed while a collaborative effort between the park, the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture and the ride manufacturer investigate."
