Two Sands Casino tourists attacked on Bethlehem's Greenway

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Two tourists visiting the Sands Casino from New York City were victims of attacks police think are connected.

At around 2 a.m. Thursday, a laptop and personal documents were stolen from a victim during an attack on the Greenway right near the casino.

The suspect is described as a young male wearing a white t-shirt and dark pants.

The second attack, a stabbing, happened about an hour later on the 1000 block of Daly Avenue, also on the Greenway.

Police say the male victim was stabbed when trying to stop an Hispanic male from stealing his bag.

That suspect is described as being five feet eight or nine inches tall, skinny, with short and wearing a white t-shirt and black pants.

Police Chief Mark DiLuzio called the stab wound superficial and said the victim will be alright.

Police are continuing to investigate.
