'Underdog' masks flying off shelves before Eagles game

Eagles will look like 'dogs' this Sunday

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - You can find just about any mask at Drop Me a Line Costume Shop in Allentown, except a German Shepherd dog head.

"Everybody in the area is sold out, I even had other costumers call me and say do you have it," said Louella Torrence who owns Drop Me a Line Costume Shop.

This dog mask is now one of the hottest items after the Eagles' big win over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.

Eagles players Lane Johnson and Chris Long wore German Shepherd masks following the game, mocking their “underdog” status.

Within days the masks sold out on Amazon.

Torrence tried to get a shipment into her shop to meet the high demand, but no luck.

"People have come in the store, asking questions you know, do you have the dog mask, do you have the dog mask?" said Torrence.

While you can't find the actual dog masks anywhere, you can find them on t-shirts at Schuylkill Valley Sports, explaining the Eagles aren't the “underdogs,” they're the “home dogs.”

Connor Brandt is a key holder at Schuylkill Valley Sports and says it's been a crazy week with Eagles gear flying off the shelves and the phones ringing with desperate calls for dog masks.

"Unfortunately we don't have them, I wish we did because I know I'd definitely buy one for myself," said Brandt.

Brandt says he's still selling plenty of green and anything with Wentz's name on it.

Across town at Rally House, it's the same, spirited story of fans stocking up on Eagles gear.

"The “Division Champs” shirts are almost gone, we've had three refills already," said manager Samantha Schaller.

Schaller and shoppers say the energy has been electric this week.

“Extremely excited, it goes through my veins like electricity," said Eagles fan Brian Paluch.

So, if you're looking for a German Shepherd mask for Sunday's game, good luck…it's a dog eat dog world.

But for those who did snag one, you're more than welcome to sport it at Lincoln Financial Field.

The Eagles tweeted this week, "Doggone it, you better believe dog masks will be allowed at @LFFStadium this weekend. Just make sure to take them off when you go through security."
