Uninvited guest arrested after trippy visit to North Whitehall home

State police said he admitted to being on acid

N. WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. - A North Whitehall Township teenager is facing trespassing and burglary charges after he allegedly walked into a stranger’s home tripping on acid to use the bathroom and rearrange some furniture.

Pennsylvania State Police charged Gavin C. Bold, of Hill Street, with a felony count of criminal trespass, misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance and a summary count of public drunkenness in connection to his uninvited visit. District Judge Donna Butler arraigned 19-year-old Sunday night, setting bail at $20,000.

State police with the Bethlehem barracks were dispatched about 7 a.m. Sunday to a home in Orefield section of North Whitehall Township for a report of an uninvited guest. When troopers arrived at the Debbie Lane home, they found an incoherent Bold in the driveway, according to court records.

Authorities report he was unable to answer basic questions and refused to indicate whether he had taken any drugs. He would only tell troopers that he “wanted to be re-born in Italy,” according to records.

The homeowners told police that Bold had walked in through the unlocked front door, sat down on a bed and took off his shoes. He proceeded to use the bathroom, walk around a bit and move some furniture before running outside to sit in their vehicle parked in the driveway.

The residents and a neighbor told police they had never before seen Bold. As troopers tried to move the teen from the family’s vehicle into a police car, he struggled and was forced into the cruiser.

After arriving at Lehigh County Jail, Bold reportedly agreed to speak with police, telling them he was on acid. Police said he proceeded to hand over a piece of tinfoil inside of which was two doses of acid.

Bold was released from county jail on Sunday after posting bail. His next court date is a preliminary hearing tentatively scheduled for March 26.
