Veteran's missing dog found dead

UPPER MOUNT BETHEL TWP., Pa. - Casper, the missing therapy dog for a Northampton County veteran, has been found dead.

Family members of the dog's owner told 69 News that Casper drowned in a pond across the street from his owner's home in Upper Mount Bethel Township.

Casper's body was found Wednesday.

Casper had been missing since February 25.

His owner, John Wilkofsky, says the dog ran away from him near Orchard Road.

The owner told us that Casper was given to him by his Army Airborne Platoon to help him cope with post traumatic stress disorder that he's suffered from since serving in Vietnam.
