Water main break in Pen Argyl leaves some without service

Service restored by Friday afternoon

PEN ARGYL, Pa. - Some residents in Northampton County lost water service Friday morning after a water main broke.

Pen Argyl officials said the break occurred in the 400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, which is also Route 512.

The water lines are owned by Pennsylvania American Water.

The break happened around 5 a.m. to a  four-inch main, according Pennsylvania American Water officials.

About 30 customers were affected when their water was turned off around 9 a.m.

The repairs were completed and everyone had their water service restored by 3 p.m. Friday, according to a spokeswoman with Pennsylvania American Water.
