Wegmans recalls fruit juices

Wegmans Food Markets has announced a recall of two fruit juice products because of the presence of a mold byproduct.

Wegmans says some 64 ounce containers of Apple Juice and Organic Cranberry Juice Blend under the name "Food You Feel Good About" have been recalled.

Officials say the products have a byproduct of mold that is not likely to cause illness, but should not be consumed. The supplier told Wegmans an an ingredient (apple juice concentrate) was found with an unacceptable level of patulin.

The affected bottles have UPC: 77890-20605-8 with expiration dates of 1/28/2014 through 3/19/2014.

Only bottles with the specific expiration dates have been recalled.

Wegmans says customers should dump out the juice and return the container to the store for a refund.

For more information, call Wegmans Consumer Affairs at 1-855-934-3663 Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Wegmans operates 15 stores in Pennsylvania and seven in New Jersey. The company is based in Rochester, N.Y.
