WFMZ's Food Truck Food Drive raises 9,543 pounds of food

Nearly 8,000 meals for Second Harvest Food Bank

The first ever Food Truck Food Drive was a huge success!

WFMZ and Dorney Park teamed up to collect thousands of pounds of food for the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Lehigh Valley.  Hundreds of cars came to Dorney Park to drop off non-perishable donations, and stayed for lunch from some local favorite food trucks.

Second Harvest weighed the food donated on Saturday and the grand total is 9,543 pounds! All together, that equates to nearly 8,000 meals!

Organizers said they are impressed by the generosity of the community.

Huge thanks to the food trucks that participated: Kona Ice, Pirate Cupcake Baking Company, Bad Bones BBQ, BlendLife, Uncle Paul's Stuffed Pretzels, and Vince's Cheesesteaks, and also to DJ JJ Sands for keeping the tunes going all afternoon. Some of the Peanuts characters also stopped by.
