Whether by car or on foot, Allentown man can't outrun police

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - An Allentown man is in custody after being unable to flee from police by car and then on foot.

According to court documents, the pursuit began Wednesday when police tried to pull over a speeding vehicle being driven by 20-year-old Alexis Regino Mendoza in the 200 block of North 2nd Street.

Police said Mendoza continued to speed through the streets of Allentown before finally ditching his car in the 300 block of North Railroad Street.

Police said they nabbed Mendoza while he was trying to jump over a yard fence.

Charges against Mendoza include fleeing police and reckless driving. His preliminary court hearing is scheduled for June 25.
