Woman charged for stealing money from Weis Market

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - A Bath woman was arraigned Thursday for stealing money from her employer over a period of three months, according to police.

Lisa Garcia, of 137 South Chestnut St., Bath, was charged with misdemeanor theft for taking small sums of money from Weis Market on Crawford Dr. in Bethlehem while she was employed there.

Officials say she took money adding up to $1,064 from the cash registers and safe between November 1, 2016 and January 13, 2017.

According to the police report, a Weis employee noticed shortages in the cash drawer and safe during Garcia's shifts. The employee asked Garcia about it and she admitted to taking the money.

Garcia was released on $5,000 bail.
