Woman pleads guilty to lighting cheating girlfriend on fire

PEN ARGYL, Pa. - A 27-year-old woman pleaded guilty Thursday to aggravated assault and risking catastrophe after she lit her girlfriend on fire back in 2017.

Kayla Mettler was sentenced to two to four years in state prison followed by three years of probation.

Court documents say Mettler told police she grabbed a bottle of lighter fluid from her kitchen cabinet and poured it over her girlfriend after learning she was cheating on her. Mettler then threw a match at the victim who suffered second-degree burns to her left ear, chest and arms.
