Woman seriously injured in hit-and-run crash in Allentown

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Allentown police are looking for a suspect in a hit-and-run accident that has a left a pedestrian in serious condition.

Police say around 8:30 p.m. a woman was struck by a car in the 400 block of N. 6th Street between W. Gordon Street and Liberty Street in Allentown.

The woman was transported to Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest via ambulance. At last check she was in critical, but stable condition. 

Witnesses say the woman was struck, went on top of the hood, and then was run over by the vehicle, but that has not been confirmed by police. 

Police say the driver stopped the car and then fled on foot.

A search for the suspect is underway.
