Man stabs wife, daughter-in-law in car in Allentown

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - A man stabbed his wife and daughter-in-law multiple times inside a car in Allentown on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

According to police, Jose Santini, 57, is charged with one count of attempted homicide and multiple counts of felony aggravated assault after stabbing the victims around 3 p.m. at Hamilton and 24th streets in Allentown, near Cedar Beach Park.

Police said two EMTs, who happened to be driving by at the time, and an off-duty Allentown police officer, were able to subdue the attacker.

The suspect still had the knife in his hand when they pulled him from the car, according to police.

Both women were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.

The daughter-in-law is in critical condition and the mother suffered moderate injuries.

There is no word on a motive, yet.
